Habitat provides allied services including interior planning, BOQ preparation, estimation, and project scheduling to support effective renovation execution. These services are structured to align with client requirements, budgets, and timelines, ensuring clarity and control before and during project execution.

Habitat delivers integrated design and build services for interior renovation projects, offering clients a single point of responsibility from planning through execution. This approach ensures coordinated decision-making, clearer accountability, and smoother project delivery.

Habitat offers dedicated build and execution services independent of design responsibility. We work as an execution partner for architects, design consultants, and project management firms, ensuring reliable on-site delivery and coordination.

These elements are coordinated to integrate seamlessly with the overall interior layout and functional requirements of the space.

Habitat supports clients beyond project completion through structured maintenance and post-handover support. Our involvement spans pre-construction planning, disciplined execution during construction, and post-construction assistance to ensure spaces continue to perform as intended over time.

While Habitat primarily focuses on interior renovation and execution, we also provide civil construction services for select and ongoing clients. Our scope includes RCC and PCC works, structural steel, brickwork, plastering, plumbing, and sanitary drainage. These services are delivered with the same planning discipline and execution control to ensure quality, coordination, and long-term performance.

Habitat delivers electrical, fire-fighting, and air-conditioning works as part of its turnkey renovation projects, and also undertakes these services independently for select clients. Our scope covers both infrastructure works—such as wiring, piping, ducting, and copper piping—as well as installation of equipment, fixtures, and systems, ensuring coordinated and reliable execution.

These works are executed with attention to durability, finish quality, and coordination with overall project requirements.

Habitat supports interior projects through supply of office interior products including furniture, modular systems, seating, carpets, lighting, and ceiling systems. These elements are selected and coordinated to align with the overall interior layout and functional requirements of the space.

“Renovation Redefined” is authored by Ajay Jain, Managing Director of Habitat Design and Arts Pvt. Ltd., and draws from his decades of experience in renovating operational offices and educational campuses. The book focuses on the practical challenges of refurbishment in live environments—where timelines are tight, budgets are defined, and disruption must be minimized.
Rather than design trends, the book addresses planning clarity, execution risks, stakeholder coordination, and decision-making frameworks that determine whether renovation projects succeed or fail. It serves as a practical reference for administrators, facility heads, and leadership teams involved in upgrading workplaces and institutional infrastructure.
Many organizations struggle to obtain timely and accurate estimates and drawings during renovation planning. Frequent revisions after work allotment often lead to confusion, budget overruns, and delays in execution. Clear scope definition and coordinated planning at the outset are critical to avoid rework and ensure predictable outcome
Delays during execution are one of the biggest risks in renovation projects, often impacting business operations, internal commitments, and stakeholder confidence. When timelines slip, responsibility becomes unclear and pressure increases on internal teams. Structured planning, phased execution, and disciplined coordination are essential to keep projects on track.
Many renovation projects suffer due to the absence of structured systems and defined processes. Without clear workflows, progress tracking, and regular updates, teams are forced into constant follow-ups, decisions become reactive, and overall execution suffers. Lack of visibility often leads to delays, confusion, and loss of control over timelines and outcomes. .
Uncontrolled renovation activities—such as noise, dust, unplanned labor movement, and ad-hoc work—often disrupt the existing work environment. This leads to discomfort for staff, internal complaints, and pressure on administration teams. Without proper planning, zoning, and execution discipline, refurbishment work can significantly impact day-to-day operations.
Non-compliance with safety practices and statutory requirements—such as labour laws, ESI, and on-site safety norms—can expose organizations to operational risks, legal issues, and workplace incidents. In live renovation environments, lack of discipline around compliance not only affects project integrity but also creates concern for internal teams and stakeholders.
After project completion, many organizations struggle to get timely support for regular maintenance and post-handover issues. In the absence of a structured support mechanism, minor problems remain unresolved, internal teams are forced to follow up repeatedly, and overall satisfaction with the project declines. Ongoing support is critical to ensure spaces continue to function as intended after handover.
